Paris 2

I probably have had my worst day of my trip so far but I am still having fun and I have not broken down yet.

To start the day off I caught the wrong train so after 2 hours, 3 trains and waiting at the wrong train station because there is a difference between Paris Saint Lazare and Saint Lazare I lined up to buy my ticket for the train to Versialles and the lady on the counter said "exscusmeee sirrra chateau de Versailles is closed today" so with grace, honor and no tears I said thank you and walked off so i thought that's cool at least I know where to go tomorrow.

So plan 2 I will do what I was going to do tomorrow today so of toad the Musee D'orsay as I was rushing down the stairs of the metro a guy ran into me and sent my Nikon D90 flying yes my Nikon D90 and broke my lens and the battery cover so once again I sucked it up and did not break down and thought just keep going Luke you can get it fixed, I caught the train and arrived to the entrance of the Musee D'orsay and yes It was closed today still did not break down so I thought off to the Louvre even though I have been there before i will get a guided tour so here I am now waiting for my tour to start.

Well the tour was fantastic we had a lovely French lady who spoke English take us through The Louvre all in all it was a fantastic tour.

I am currently in McDonalds having a drink and I am stuck between two people and I cannot get out because I do not know how to ask for them to move.

I am going to head back to my room now have a ret and see how I fell but i think I may stay in and read the rest of The Great Gatsby. Boring I know but I feel like I am getting a cold and it is freezing here.

Paris

Sorry I have been so busy to post so I have decided to keep my posts brief and regular rather then long and irregular mainly so mum and dad know I am still alive.

My first full day in Paris was dedicated to shopping and there was no where better to start then the Champs Élysées, I arrived 2 hours early because I did not realise the shops don't open until 11 am on a Sunday but by time I walked up and down scoping the shops they shops slowly started to open.

After lunch I jumped on the Metro and went to Galleries Lafayette which is the Paris equivalent to Harrods and this is where I brought my new baby's black Prada Gloves.

Au revoir for now,

Luke

Bon Voyage

Day 1

Flight 1: Melbourne to Dubai

I boarded the plane and found my window seat, I found myself secured in by an African man named Friday and an Afghan man that owned a restaurant on Brunswick street called the Afghan Gallery both were nice.

As some will know I don't touch people but this did not occur to Friday by the end of the flight he had fallen asleep on me, touched my food, spelt his name on my leg, shared his food via projectile spit and thought it was the nice thing to wake me up and tell me he was going to the toilet. So after all of that, one bottle of Detol antiseptic liquid and an argument on how far Dubai is from Australia I made it safe, sound and groped to Dubai.

Flight 2 : Dubai to London

I upgraded my flight to Business Class for this part of the trip which was a mistake I don't think I will ever be able to fly economy again, when you fly Business Class you have access to the airlines lounges so I went and checked out the Emirates Business Class Lounge it had a restaurant, spa, private bathrooms and lots more which made the stop a refreshing break.

When I landed in London I took advantage of my complimentary chauffeur and was dropped of at Canary Wharf to my cousin Nikki's apartment, I instantly feel in love with Canary Wharf it is unlike any part of London it has a certain resemblance to New York it is hard to explain why but you will notice the resemblance in my pictures below.

After a quick shower and ditching the summer clothes i was straight on The Tube to Victoria station to meet Nikki after work, After a quick coffee and and my investment into another scarf from some random shop we headed to Hyde Park to see the Winter Wonderland Carnival this is where I found my new winter drink Hot Chocolate with a shot of Amaretto....yummy

After freezing in Hyde Park and warming up with Hot Chocolates and Mulled Wine we headed to Antonio Carluccio's Restaurant at Canary Wharf in one word AMAZING.
